Today, on October 31st 2018, the city of Almaty witnessed opening of the five largest international exhibitions
The formal opening ceremony was attended by: Azat Sultanov, Director of the Plant Production and Processing Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Denis Van den Weghe, Chairman of the Management Board, President of Kazakhstan Center of Business Cooperation “Atakent” JSC, Eduard Stroone, Regional Director of ITE Group, as well as officials of the diplomatic missions of the participating countries and representatives of various specialized associations.
This year, 370 domestic and foreign companies representing 31 counties of the globe will be showcasing their products, covering each stage of the operational cycle. National stands as well as group presentations have been arranged by Russia, Poland, China, USA, Afghanistan, India, Korea, Germany, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Sri-Lanka.
The exposition of WorldFood Kazakhstan grows from year to year along with the interest from the abroad participants. Thus, for instance, Poland has been represented by a national stand of 12 companies and two independent expositions by the Ministry of Agriculture of Poland and Polish Investment and Trade Agency.
According to Radoslaw Gruk, Consul General of Poland in Almaty: “This exhibition is an important factor that has an impact over the economy and overall development of Kazakhstan. Being a large exporter of all products of the agricultural sector, we have been participating in WorldFood Kazakhstan for many years. I can see that more and more Polish companies come to the market of Kazakhstan, and this exhibition is one of the factors that influence those growing results.”
Annually, over five thousand people visit the exhibitions where they share contacts, establish new connections with the exponent companies, and take an active part in the business program.
This year business agenda of the food industry has been added with a number of the brand new activities. One of them is AGRI-FOOD FORUM under the auspices of which visitors and exhibitors could discuss the most burning issues of the agricultural industry and study best international practices from the abroad participants.
One of the Forum’s speakers – Beibit Yerybayev, the founder and director of KazBeef Group, made an emphasis that: “farmers and producers spend most of their time in the “field fights” to provide high-quality products. Nevertheless, such meetings are essential. We share practical experience, and discuss ways of improvements in respect of the infrastructural solutions and veterinary control, because it is very important to talk about comprehensive approaches to the sanitary and epidemiological risks which are present all across the country.”.
More than that, HoRex Forum Kazakhstan has been also launched today, hosting a series of master classes led by the gurus of the industry.
Business Council of Bakers and Confectioners of Kazakhstan B-SPiK has created a platform for presentations and reports, discussions and master-classes for all categories of suppliers and producers of the food industry.
Tomorrow, November 1st will be marked with the start of the activities of the Retail-Center which will umbrella B2B meetings of the participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and others CIS countries.
The Magic of the Kitchen, the national TV-channel, will be delivering the most fascinating culinary master-classes for the entire duration of the exhibition. Kazakhstan Association of Hotel and Restaurants KAGiR is pointedly arranging several specific seminars where the experts will be bringing about numerous questions and issues of the hygiene compliance in the hotels and restaurants as well as those related to the personnel management.
Participants of the exhibition will be also offered to join special industrial excursions to the production facilities of the agricultural sector of Almaty and its oblast.
