AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN AND COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN 2025 OPENED IN ALMATY: MORE THAN 170 PARTICIPANTS FROM 25 COUNTRIES PRESENTED INNOVATIONS FOR AGRICULTURE AND COLD STORAGE
ON OCTOBER 29, THE GRAND OPENING OF THE 19TH CENTRAL ASIAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "AGRICULTURE" AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN 2025 AND THE 9TH CENTRAL ASIAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "COLD STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION AND SERVICE FOR COLD LOGISTICS" COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN 2025 TOOK PLACE IN ALMATY, IN TWO PAVILIONS OF THE ATAKENT EXHIBITION CENTER.
This significant event in the agro-industrial complex brought together leading manufacturers, suppliers and experts from various countries, providing a unique opportunity to exchange experience and discuss current trends.
This year, the exhibition brought together 174 participants from 25 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, Israel, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, the USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, South Korea and Japan. The exhibition is represented by 43 companies from Kazakhstan and 131 international participants. Traditionally, the exposition includes national stands of Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, regional stands represent China and Russia. It is important to note that 33 companies are participating in AgroWorld Qazaqstan for the first time, which indicates the continued interest of new entrepreneurs from all over the world who are ready to take part in the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan.

The first day of the AgroWorld Qazaqstan 2025 exhibition opened a panorama of modern technologies for the agro-industrial complex before the professional community. The exposition presents all solutions - from irrigation and fertilizer systems to digital solutions for monitoring and automation of processes. Participants demonstrated innovations in animal husbandry, poultry farming, crop production, processing and storage of agricultural products, as well as farm equipment and veterinary solutions.
This year, special emphasis is placed on sustainable agriculture, which is becoming a priority for the development of the industry in the context of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Poultry farming remains a traditionally significant segment of the exposition: more than 25 companies from 15 countries presented advanced technologies for feeding, incubation, processing and quality control. This platform has become a place for meetings and negotiations between Kazakh and foreign producers, discussion of new partnerships and investment projects.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is once again playing an important role in the exhibition, becoming a key partner of the event. This year, 28 Dutch companies are taking part, of which 14 are presenting the national exposition.
The business program of the first day began with a discussion of key issues of the agro-industrial complex in Central Asia. Within the framework of the Plenary Session "Main Issues of the Agro-Industrial Complex in Central Asia: Challenges and Partnerships", experts discussed effective strategies for water resources management, barriers to the development of processing, tools for attracting investment in the agricultural sector, technological solutions for the transformation of the agro-industrial complex and strategic partnerships for sustainable development. The speakers were Aslan Abdraimov, Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Ari Veldhausen, Counsellor for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, Embassy of the Netherlands in Central Asia; Rustam Baltabaev, Executive Director of the Association for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kyrgyz Republic; Anastasia Kromiadi, Commercial Director of ATEK KZ.
The plenary session became not only an expert discussion platform, but also a space for the exchange of experience between representatives of government agencies, business and international organizations. The participants noted the importance of such events, where it is possible to build a direct dialogue, share successful practices and jointly look for solutions for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector of the region.
Aslan Abdraimov stressed the importance of rational use of water resources: "Today's session is of particular importance for us, given the increasingly urgent problem of water shortage, the introduction of modern technologies in the field of irrigation are among the priorities of our Ministry." In his speech, the Vice Minister noted: "Currently, Kazakhstan is going through an important stage in the development of the water sector. We are implementing a large-scale transformation of the water sector, focusing our efforts on several priority areas: improving the regulatory framework, comprehensive modernization of water infrastructure, introducing advanced water-saving technologies, digitalizing water accounting and distribution, forming an effective tariff policy and strengthening transboundary cooperation with neighboring states. We have adopted a new Water Code, the Concept for the Development of the Water Resources Management System of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2030 and the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Water Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2028, as well as a Roadmap for Water Conservation in All Sectors of the Economy."
Ari Weldhausen noted the need to strengthen international cooperation and introduce innovations: "The Netherlands and Kazakhstan are partners, we already have successful experience of cooperation in the agricultural sector. Together we will sign a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing and professionalizing the agricultural sector in Kazakhstan. After all, we have a shared responsibility to create sustainable food systems around the world. Today, it is important to create conditions for the exchange of knowledge, joint educational programs and the introduction of advanced technologies that will help make agriculture more sustainable and profitable." In turn, Rustam Baltabayev spoke about the successful joint work with the Ministry of Agriculture, which resulted in the signing of the Presidential Decree on the additional development of the agro-industrial complex of the Kyrgyz Republic, which includes 30 areas. "Today, Kyrgyzstan provides 6 out of 9 key food products - 74% self-sufficiency. The agro-industrial complex is defined as a national priority. Strategically, by 2030 it is planned to double the export of agricultural products, and by 2040 to reach the threshold of 50% for the processing of agricultural products, as well as to triple foreign investment in the agro-industrial complex," he said.

The plenary session ended with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of speakers and organizers, which marked the official opening of the exhibition, and a subsequent tour of the exposition. Honored guests were able to talk with major domestic and international exhibitors in the format of a live dialogue.
In continuation of the program, a specialized seminar "Dutch solutions and innovations for your poultry business" was held in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and the Dutch Poultry Center. The School of Dairy Farmers also began its work in partnership with DairyNews. At the workshop, the speakers shared their professional knowledge and practical experience on the topics of innovations in the dairy industry From the latest herd management and process automation technologies to genetics and animal health.

The second day of the exhibition, October 30, promises no less interesting events, including the trend session "Agrofuture: Climate Initiatives and Sustainable Agricultural Development", the UniVet expert session "Poultry Intestinal Health" and the real business discussion "Horticulture and berry projects: from business idea to added value". The workshop "School of Farmers" will continue its work, providing participants with the opportunity to study the best cases of herd management, genetics and rational feeding of animals.
